Intense rainfall has struck the Valencia region, leaving streets in the town of Torrent submerged in water and thick mud. The deluge, which occurred south-west of Valencia, resulted in widespread flooding that rendered numerous vehicles unusable and trapped drivers on the roads.

According to reports, up to 96 mm of rain fell on Torrent during the storm. The heavy precipitation overwhelmed local infrastructure, causing significant flooding in residential areas and public thoroughfares.

The Parc Central tunnel was among the locations severely affected by the deluge. The accumulation of water and mud in the tunnel and surrounding streets created hazardous conditions for residents and commuters.

Emergency services were forced to intervene, launching pumping operations to clear the flooded areas. The rapid response was necessary to remove standing water and restore access to the affected zones.

The incident highlights the vulnerability of the region to sudden, intense weather events. While the immediate emergency response is underway, the cleanup process is expected to be extensive due to the volume of debris and water displaced by the storm.
