Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ogun State governorship, has publicly rejected rumours that he hails from neighbouring Ekiti State, calling the allegations “political jesters.”
In a recent statement, Adeola dismissed the claims as baseless, insisting that his origins lie firmly in Ogun State, where he has served as the senator representing Ogun Central.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Ogun, noting his long‑standing involvement in the state’s political and developmental agenda.
The comments come as the APC prepares for the upcoming gubernatorial election in Ogun, a contest that will determine whether the party retains the governorship after Governor Dapo Abiodun’s tenure.
“Those claiming I’m from Ekiti are jesters,” Adeola said.
