The Federal Government, through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has distributed relief materials to flood victims in the Ogbaru federal constituency of Anambra State.
NEMA, the agency tasked with coordinating disaster response in Nigeria, carried out the distribution as part of the government's effort to provide succour to those affected by this year’s flooding.
The flood relief operation targets residents of Ogbaru, a constituency in the southeastern state of Anambra that has been among the areas hardest hit by heavy rains and river overflow this season.
Providing essential items such as food, water and shelter supplies, the distribution aims to address the immediate humanitarian needs of families displaced or otherwise impacted by the floods.
The intervention underscores the continued focus of federal authorities on mitigating the effects of recurrent flooding across Nigeria, a challenge that frequently threatens lives and livelihoods in vulnerable communities.
