Former U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly asked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White to serve as his new White House press secretary.
Trump, who held the presidency from 2017 to 2021, made the request in a statement that was reported by Punch Nigeria.
The UFC is a prominent mixed‑martial‑arts promotion that hosts fighters from around the world. White has been the organization’s president for several years.
The White House press secretary is a senior role responsible for communicating the administration’s policies and responding to media inquiries. Trump’s proposal to appoint a sports executive to the position is an unusual move that has attracted attention.
