Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham has expressed his excitement at being selected for the senior England squad, describing the prospect of playing alongside his brother Jude as a “huge dream.” The 21-year-old was named in manager Thomas Tuchel’s 25-man squad on Friday for upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Croatia and Spain in November.

Speaking to DAZN following Dortmund’s 2-1 home victory over Elversberg in the Bundesliga, Jobe recalled childhood memories of the brothers simulating international matches together. “Since we were young, we reenacted that so many times in the garden or wherever, in the park, playing for England together,” he said. “So it’s a huge dream. It’s not happened yet, so I don’t want to jinx or say it too early, but yeah, I’m really excited.”

This marks Jobe’s first call-up to the senior national team, although he has previously captained England’s under-21 side. His brother Jude, 23, currently plays for Real Madrid and has earned 60 caps for England, having made his own debut while at Dortmund.

Jobe joined Dortmund in 2025 and initially required time to adapt to the Bundesliga. However, he has impressed this season, establishing himself as a regular starter for the club. His consistent performance has drawn praise from his club manager, Niko Kovac, who highlighted the midfielder’s dedication to his craft.

“He is really a complete football freak. He studies his own game and the games of other players to learn from the best in his position,” Kovac said. “And he’s a really great lad and he’s got an excellent attitude. I’m really happy for him that he can now wear the jersey of his national team next to his brother. It’s something quite special, not just to play for your country, but to play alongside your brother. It’s incredible.”

The Bellingham brothers’ potential partnership on the international stage adds a unique dimension to England’s upcoming campaign, with both players now active in top-tier European football.
