Governor Mbah launched a statewide tour of 68 development centres, using the visits to commission a series of “smart” schools and primary health centres (PHCs) across the region. The tour, announced on Thursday, is part of the administration’s push to showcase its inclusive development model, which it says spreads projects and opportunities evenly across all wards.
During the opening ceremony, Mbah emphasized that the government’s approach is designed to ensure that “no part of the state was left behind.” He highlighted that the distribution of infrastructure, including the newly‑equipped schools and health facilities, reflects a deliberate effort to reach both urban and rural communities.
The smart schools, equipped with digital learning tools and internet connectivity, are intended to improve educational outcomes and bridge the technology gap for students in underserved areas. Meanwhile, the commissioned PHCs aim to expand basic health services, providing essential care such as maternal health, immunisations and treatment for common illnesses.
Officials accompanying the governor noted that the 68 development centres serve as hubs for local projects, ranging from agricultural support to vocational training. By linking these centres with the newly commissioned facilities, the administration hopes to create a coordinated network that drives socioeconomic growth.
While the tour covered a broad swath of the state, the governor’s team said the initiative will continue with further visits planned for the coming months, ensuring that the rollout of infrastructure remains consistent with the inclusive model he described.
