Manchester City were beaten 3-1 by Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday night, handing Enzo Maresca’s side their third consecutive Premier League loss.
Forest opened the scoring early when Jair Cunha capitalised on a defensive error to put the hosts ahead, and within the first 20 minutes Liam Delap raced through and finished to make it 2‑0.
In the second half City looked to mount a comeback, with Rayan Cherki producing a “stunning finish” that threatened to pull the visitors level, but Forest restored a comfortable margin when Delap added a third goal after a swift counter‑attack.
The defeat leaves Manchester City six points behind league leaders Arsenal as the competition heads into the November international break.
Arsenal, who sit at the top of the Premier League table, are now six points clear of their nearest rivals following City’s loss.
