Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has announced a 24‑man squad to represent Nigeria in the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Tanzania.
The selection, released by the Nigeria Football Federation, marks the first set of players named for the qualifying campaign that will determine the nation’s participation in the continent’s premier tournament scheduled for 2027.
Chelle’s squad will face Tanzania in a two‑legged tie, the dates of which have yet to be confirmed by the Confederation of African Football. The matches will form part of the early round of qualifiers that all African nations must navigate to earn a spot at the finals.
Nigeria, a five‑time AFCON champion and one of Africa’s most successful footballing nations, will look to build momentum under Chelle’s leadership as they aim to secure qualification and continue their strong regional legacy.
