Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has appointed Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji‑Bello, a former Vice‑Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), as the new Pro‑Chancellor of Redeemer University.
Adeboye, who leads one of Nigeria’s largest Pentecostal denominations, made the appointment as part of the church’s ongoing effort to strengthen the governance of its tertiary institution.
Professor Olatunji‑Bello served as Vice‑Chancellor of LASU, a prominent public university in Lagos, before retiring from that role. Her academic career includes extensive experience in university administration and research.
The Pro‑Chancellor acts as the chairman of the university’s governing council, overseeing strategic direction, financial stewardship, and compliance with regulatory standards. Olatunji‑Bello’s appointment is expected to bring seasoned academic leadership to Redeemer University’s board.
Redeemer University, founded by the RCCG, aims to combine faith‑based education with academic excellence. The selection of a former LASU chief executive underscores the institution’s commitment to leveraging experienced higher‑education professionals in its governance structure.
