Ben Wiggins, the son of five‑time Olympic champion Sir Bradley Wiggins, has signed his first professional contract with the Australian cycling team Jayco‑Alula.
The 18‑year‑old rider will join the squad for the 2026 season, marking the start of his career on the pro circuit. Jayco‑Alula is a UCI‑registered team based in Australia that competes in international road races.
Wiggins said he was excited to begin his own journey in the sport that has defined his family. “It’s a big step for me and I’m looking forward to proving myself on the world stage,” he added.
Sir Bradley Wiggins, who won gold in the 2012 London Olympics time trial and has five Olympic medals to his name, has long been a prominent figure in British cycling. His son’s entry into professional racing continues the family’s legacy in the sport.
