The Florida Gators were named the top team in the Associated Press preseason men's basketball poll released on Monday, placing them at No. 1 in the nation.
The AP poll, which ranks the top 25 college basketball teams each week, is compiled from votes by sports writers and broadcasters across the United States.
Florida’s placement reflects the high expectations for the Gators as they prepare for the upcoming NCAA season.
The poll is part of the broader preseason coverage that sets the stage for the 2026‑27 college basketball schedule.
