The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has clarified why Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika and other players pulled out of the Super Eagles squad for the friendly match against Russia.
Ndidi, a midfielder for Leicester City, and Onyedika, a defender for the national side, were initially named in the squad that was set to face the Russian team in a preparatory game.
According to the NFF, the players withdrew from the squad, and the federation released a statement explaining the circumstances behind their decision.
With Ndidi and Onyedika absent, the Super Eagles will field a revised lineup for the friendly, as the federation works to fill the gaps left by the withdrawals.
