Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has clarified that she declined a position on the Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign council after discovering she had been added to the list without her knowledge.
Abraham, who has built a successful career in film and television, said she was surprised to see her name on the council roster and that she had not been approached or asked to join the political body.
She explained that she had no intention of becoming involved in the party’s campaign activities and that she was uncomfortable with the decision being made on her behalf.
Abraham added that she respects the APC’s work but prefers to keep her public life focused on her acting career and philanthropic projects.
Her statement comes amid growing scrutiny over the inclusion of celebrities in political campaigns across Nigeria.
