The 2026 Ballon d'Or shortlist has been trimmed to three leading contenders: Kylian Mbappé, Lamine Yamal and Harry Kane.
France Football’s annual award, which recognises the world’s best footballer, originally opened with a 30‑man list. The current focus has narrowed to the three players who are widely regarded as the favourites for the trophy.
While the exact criteria for the final decision remain in the hands of the voting panel, the debate over who truly deserves the accolade is already heating up among fans and pundits alike.
As the 2026 Ballon d’Or approaches, the spotlight will remain on Mbappé, Yamal and Kane, whose performances over the past season have positioned them at the centre of the conversation.
The final award ceremony will announce the winner later this year, but for now the football world watches the three favourites closely.
