ESPN conducted a six‑week poll in which sixteen NBA executives and coaches were asked to name the league’s top five contenders for the Most Valuable Player award.
The survey, which ran from the start of the season to mid‑April, gathered the opinions of front‑office personnel and coaching staff across the league. Each participant was asked to list the five players they believed were most likely to win the MVP trophy.
While the poll did not disclose the specific names that emerged as front‑running candidates, it highlighted the breadth of viewpoints within the NBA’s decision‑making bodies. The results were compiled by ESPN’s sports analytics team and will be released in the coming days.
ESPN’s coverage of the poll is part of a broader effort to provide fans with insight into how the league’s insiders assess player performance and impact. The organization has previously used similar surveys to gauge sentiment ahead of awards and All‑Star selections.
The final list of MVP front‑runners will be announced shortly, offering a snapshot of the league’s expectations as the regular season approaches its conclusion.
