On Thursday, 22 October, Nigerian billionaire businessman and lawyer Adewunmi Adedeji Ogunsanya was installed as the Odofin of Remoland at the Akarigbo Palace in Sagamu, Ogun State.

Ogunsanya, a Lagos‑born entrepreneur, is best known as the chairman of Multichoice Nigeria, the promoters of the country’s leading pay‑TV services DStv and GOtv. His investment in the entertainment sector has made him one of Nigeria’s most prominent wealthy figures.

Beyond his business success, Ogunsanya has pursued a range of philanthropic projects in his hometown of Ikorodu, Lagos. He has announced plans to establish a private university for the Ikorodu Division through his group, Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Limited, and has funded a technical college that is slated for completion and commissioning next year.

The installation was carried out by Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, known as Torungbuwa II, the paramount ruler of the Remo kingdom. The monarch, together with other rulers from the 55 Remo towns, unanimously conferred the title on Ogunsanya in recognition of his self‑less service and humanitarian gestures toward the people of Remoland.

Following the ceremony, Ogunsanya hosted a gathering of prominent Nigerians from across the country to celebrate the occasion and acknowledge the new honour.
