North Dakota’s incumbent U.S. Representative Julie Fedorchak will not be expected to appear at a Thursday debate between candidates vying for the state’s sole House seat, even though she is running for reelection.
The debate, scheduled for Thursday, will feature the challengers who are competing to replace Fedorchak in the 2nd congressional district.
Fedorchak, who has served in the House since 2019, has announced her intention to seek a second term but has not confirmed whether she will participate in the event.
Observers note that the absence of the incumbent may affect the dynamics of the debate, as it will be limited to the challengers.
The debate is part of the broader campaign cycle for the upcoming election, which will determine who will represent North Dakota in the U.S. House of Representatives.
