In Alaska, incumbent Republican Senator Dan Sullivan will face off against Democratic challenger former Representative Mary Peltola on Thursday as he campaigns for reelection to the U.S. Senate.
Sullivan, who has represented the state in Washington since 2015, will defend his record on issues ranging from resource development to federal oversight. Peltola, who served as Alaska’s at‑large congresswoman from 2022 to 2023, will outline her platform and propose alternatives to the incumbent’s policies.
The debate is part of the campaign cycle ahead of the November 2024 election, in which both candidates are vying for Alaska’s sole U.S. Senate seat. The event will be broadcast by PBS NewsHour and other local media, giving voters a chance to hear the candidates’ positions on key issues.
Details on the exact time and venue are to be announced by the campaign offices, but the Thursday debate is expected to draw significant attention from Alaskan voters and national observers alike.
