After more than eight hours of deliberation, the board of the Cameroon Volleyball Federation (FECAVOLLEY) approved a series of measures aimed at strengthening discipline within the sport. The decisions were taken during a special council meeting held in Yaoundé, with the intent of ensuring a more rigorous and well‑governed 2026‑2027 volleyball season.

The newly adopted measures focus on enforcing stricter compliance with existing regulations and improving the overall governance framework of the federation. Officials emphasized that the steps are designed to promote transparency, accountability and a higher standard of conduct among players, coaches and administrators.

FECAVOLLEY’s leadership highlighted that the reforms are part of a broader strategy to elevate the quality of Cameroonian volleyball domestically and in continental competitions. By tightening disciplinary procedures, the federation aims to create a more professional environment that can attract sponsorship and support the development of talent.

Cameroon, Africa’s most populous Central African nation, has a growing volleyball community, with both men’s and women’s teams competing in regional tournaments. The federation’s renewed focus on rigor and good governance reflects a commitment to aligning the sport with international best practices.

While the specific details of the disciplinary measures were not disclosed, the council’s lengthy session underscores the priority placed on institutional integrity as the federation prepares for the upcoming season.
