Former Nigeria international John Obi Mikel has delivered a scathing critique of Manchester United, describing the club's recent form as "awful" and a "disaster." The comments highlight a growing concern over the team's inability to function as a cohesive unit on the pitch.
Coaching and Team Dynamics
Mikel, who captained the Super Eagles for many years, specifically pointed to a lack of cohesion as the primary driver behind United's struggles. In his assessment, the squad appears disjointed, failing to execute the tactical requirements necessary to compete at the highest level of English football.
The former midfielder’s remarks add to a chorus of criticism surrounding the Red Devils, who have faced significant scrutiny regarding their performance consistency and on-field organization in recent seasons.
While the source material does not detail specific matches or player performances, Mikel’s use of strong language such as "disaster" underscores the severity of the situation from the perspective of a former top-flight player with extensive experience in the Premier League.
Manchester United remains one of the most high-profile clubs in world football, and such candid assessments from former Nigerian stars often draw significant attention within the African football community and among global supporters.
