ALX Enterprise, the corporate learning arm of ALX Africa, is positioning itself as a partner for organisations looking to align leadership, workforce skills and emerging technologies. The initiative, which focuses on practical, business‑relevant training, has already worked with firms across Africa to build digital and AI capabilities while strengthening leadership and productivity.

In its first six months with MTN Côte d’Ivoire, ALX Enterprise ran 55 learning cohorts for managers, executive committee members and senior managers, showing how structured programmes can scale leadership development. At the Bank of Kigali in Rwanda, 45 senior staff completed three learning tracks that centred on data and digital skills, using real business challenges to drive problem‑solving, collaboration and data analysis. A Nigerian energy operator trained 147 staff and automated 12 processes, illustrating a link between workforce development and operational improvement.

ALX Enterprise’s approach follows a four‑stage methodology: Diagnose, Design, Deliver and Measure. The process starts by identifying an organisation’s business priorities and capability gaps, then designing a tailored learning intervention, delivering the programme and measuring progress against agreed outcomes. This framework recognises that AI adoption requires more than tools; it needs leadership alignment, employee training, governance and practical application.

To discuss these themes, ALX Enterprise hosted an executive roundtable in Lagos titled “How the Intelligent Enterprise Runs on AI and Smarter Talent.” Business leaders and HR executives examined data governance, pilot projects, training and tool access, underscoring that technology success hinges on people and organisational readiness.

By tying learning to real workplace challenges, ALX Enterprise aims to translate investment in people into performance gains. Its work suggests that for firms embarking on digital transformation, the first step is to understand what new capabilities their teams need, how to build them, and how to measure the impact on business outcomes.
