The Metropolitan Police have ruled out a criminal investigation into a post on X by Sarah Helm, the wife of a senior adviser to the UK prime minister.
The post, which appeared to endorse the pro‑Palestinian group Palestine Action, was flagged for review after it was seen to support the organisation. Police officials said the content did not meet the criminal threshold for an offence.
Sarah Helm is married to a senior adviser in the prime minister’s office, and Palestine Action is a UK‑based campaign group that advocates for Palestinian rights.
Met Police investigators confirmed that the post did not amount to hate speech or incitement, and therefore did not constitute a breach of the law.
The decision means no further action will be taken against Ms Helm, and the police have stated that the post was reviewed in line with their standard procedures for social media content.
