Rescue teams recovered two bodies from the rubble of a collapsed building under construction at Holy City Church in Bwerenga, Katabi Town Council, Wakiso District, after police confirmed one death.

The collapse occurred while the church was still being built, according to reports from the Nile Post. The site, located in the outskirts of Entebbe, was struck by the sudden failure of the structure, leaving several workers trapped beneath the debris.

Police have so far confirmed one death, but the identity of the second body remains to be determined. Both victims were recovered by emergency crews who had been on the scene immediately after the collapse.

Wakiso District, which surrounds the capital city of Kampala, has seen a number of construction projects in recent years. The incident at Holy City Church has raised concerns about building safety and regulatory oversight in the region.

Authorities have not yet released further details about the cause of the collapse or whether any other individuals were injured. The investigation is ongoing.
