Former President Donald Trump announced on social media that he has asked UFC chief Dana White to serve as his press secretary. The post was made as the Trump White House undergoes a period of major transition and follows the Republican Party’s deep losses in Tuesday’s midterm elections.
In his brief message, Trump said he had extended the offer to White, describing the former mixed‑martial‑arts promoter as a potential addition to his communications team. No further details about the proposed role or White’s response were provided.
The announcement comes at a time when Trump’s former administration is adjusting to life out of the Oval Office, with staff and operations reportedly in flux. Analysts have noted that the former president continues to shape political narratives despite no longer holding office.
Tuesday’s midterm elections delivered a significant setback for the GOP, which lost a substantial number of seats in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. The defeats have left the party grappling with reduced congressional influence and internal debates over its future direction.
Dana White, who leads the Ultimate Fighting Championship, is a high‑profile figure in the sports world but has not publicly commented on Trump’s invitation. The offer highlights Trump’s ongoing strategy of leveraging celebrity connections in his political endeavors.
