In a series of offensive operations across Borno State, troops of Operation Hadin Kai have reportedly neutralised 44 suspected Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists, while also destroying improvised explosive device (IED) materials.

The operation, which took place in several locations within the state, was part of the Nigerian military’s ongoing campaign to curb the insurgency that has plagued the northeastern region for years.

According to the report, the troops were able to dismantle a number of IEDs that could have posed a threat to civilians and security forces alike.

Operation Hadin Kai has been active in Borno since the insurgency intensified in the early 2010s, and this latest success is seen as a significant step in reducing the threat posed by Boko Haram and its affiliates.

While the exact details of the engagements remain undisclosed, the Nigerian Armed Forces have repeatedly highlighted the importance of coordinated operations in weakening the insurgent groups’ operational capabilities.
