Nigerian striker Gift Orban is poised to complete a permanent transfer to Turkish Super Lig side Amedspor, following a highly productive start to his loan spell with the club. The 24-year-old forward has impressed since joining the team in July from Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim, drawing attention with his immediate impact on the pitch.
Orban has been a key contributor for Amedspor, registering seven goals and two assists in just six league appearances. According to Amedspor president Nahit Eren, the player’s contract includes a mandatory purchase option that will be triggered if he reaches a specific scoring threshold. Eren clarified the financial terms of the initial arrangement, stating, “We loaned Gift Orban for €500,000, not €1 million.”
“If he scores 10 goals, the mandatory purchase option will be activated,” Eren was quoted as saying by GZT.
With three more goals required to meet the condition, Orban is currently the joint-top scorer in the Turkish Super Lig. He shares the top spot with Trabzonspor star Mohamed Salah, highlighting his significant contribution to the league’s scoring charts early in the season.
