President Bola Tinubu has called on state governments across Nigeria to use their revenues more prudently and to prioritise projects that raise the standard of living for their citizens. The call was made in a State House release issued on Sunday.

In the release, Tinubu urged state administrations to direct a greater share of their budgets toward the health and education sectors, arguing that these areas are critical for long‑term development.

He stressed that the use of state funds should be judicious, ensuring that public money is invested in initiatives that deliver tangible improvements for ordinary Nigerians.

“The focus must be on projects that improve the standard of living of the populace,” Tinubu said, highlighting the need for effective and accountable governance at the sub‑national level.

As Nigeria remains a federation of 36 states, the president’s message underscores the importance of coordinated efforts between the federal government and state authorities to achieve sustainable progress.
