The Kremlin said it hopes the outcome of the United States presidential election will not derail President Donald Trump’s ongoing efforts to negotiate a settlement between Moscow and Kyiv.

During a recent press briefing, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov was asked whether the election’s result could stymie U.S. attempts to help broker a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine.

Responding to the question, Peskov voiced confidence that President Trump will continue to pursue his peace initiatives, despite the uncertainty surrounding the election.

The statement reflects Moscow’s interest in maintaining a stable diplomatic channel with the United States as the conflict in eastern Ukraine remains a key international concern.

While the Kremlin has not detailed specific conditions for the negotiations, it underscored its hope that U.S. policy will remain focused on resolving the crisis regardless of the electoral outcome.
