Chicago Bears running back D’Andre Swift told reporters on Thursday that the turnover issues that plagued him early in the season are now “over with,” after he fumbled the ball twice in the team’s first four games.

The two fumbles came during the Bears’ opening stretch of the 2024 NFL season, prompting concerns about ball security for the young back who entered the league as a second‑round pick in 2022.

“It’s over with now,” Swift said, adding that he has been working on protecting the football and expects to stay out of the end zone’s “danger zone” moving forward.

Swift has been a central piece of Chicago’s rushing attack, averaging over 70 yards per game through the first month of play and contributing as a versatile receiver out of the backfield.

The Bears’ coaching staff emphasized the importance of limiting turnovers as they aim to improve their standing in the NFC North, noting that Swift’s renewed focus on ball security could help the team sustain drives and compete more effectively in upcoming matchups.
