Offensive tackle Josh Simmons was removed from a Kansas City Chiefs team meeting after head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes asked him to leave, sources told NFL Network.
Simmons, a member of the Chiefs’ offensive line, was reportedly escorted out of the session during the meeting, though the exact reason for the removal has not been disclosed.
Following the incident, Simmons issued an apology to the coaching staff and his teammates, according to the same sources.
The Chiefs, led by Reid—who has coached the team since 2013—and Mahomes, the 2023 NFL MVP, are a two‑time Super Bowl champion franchise that routinely emphasizes discipline and team cohesion.
While details remain limited, the episode underscores the authority of the Chiefs’ leadership in managing internal matters, and Simmons’ apology suggests an effort to move past the incident quickly.
