Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke rescued six kidnapping victims in the Gbise community of Katsina‑Ala Local Government Area, Benue State, according to a report from Punch Nigeria.
The operation, carried out by Nigerian soldiers, successfully located and freed the six individuals who had been held captive in the area.
Gbise is a rural community within Katsina‑Ala, one of the 23 local government areas that make up Benue State in central Nigeria.
Benue State is a key agricultural hub, producing crops such as rice, maize and yams, and is home to a diverse population of over 5 million people.
Operation Whirl Stroke is part of the Nigerian Armed Forces’ broader efforts to address security challenges across the country.
