Six Flags Over Georgia has announced that it will install seat belts on its Goliath roller coaster, a move that comes less than two weeks after a fatal incident on the ride.

The decision follows the death of 42‑year‑old Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, a resident of Atlanta, who was ejected from his seat during a Goliath run and died at the park. The incident prompted the theme‑park operator to review safety measures on the attraction.

In a statement, Six Flags said it would retrofit the Goliath coaster with seat‑belt restraints to prevent similar accidents in the future. The company did not disclose a timetable for the installation or whether the ride would be temporarily closed while the work is carried out.

Six Flags Over Georgia is one of the park’s flagship attractions, drawing thousands of visitors each year. The operator’s announcement follows a broader industry focus on rider safety after a series of high‑profile incidents worldwide.
