Several people were injured when the Riyadh airport was reportedly hit again, authorities said. The incident took place in Saudi Arabia’s capital on a day that followed Yemen’s Houthi rebels claiming responsibility for two deadly attacks on the same airport.
The Houthi rebels, a Yemen-based insurgent group, have repeatedly targeted Saudi infrastructure. Their claims of responsibility for the earlier attacks on Riyadh airport have heightened concerns about the security of the country’s key transport hub.
While the exact number of injured remains unconfirmed, witnesses reported that the strike caused injuries but no fatalities. The airport’s operations were temporarily disrupted as emergency services responded to the incident.
Saudi security officials are investigating the attack, and the airport has since resumed normal services. Officials have urged calm while they assess the damage and determine the perpetrators.
The series of attacks is part of the broader conflict between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, in which the Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for several strikes on Saudi targets over recent months.
