Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia’s war on Ukraine “must be brought to an end,” emphasizing that diplomatic contact between Washington and Kyiv remains “virtually nonstop” despite a recent disagreement with former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Zelensky’s remarks underline the Ukrainian leader’s continued call for an end to the conflict that began with Russia’s full‑scale invasion in February 2022.
He highlighted that communication channels with the United States are active, stating that the dialogue between the two capitals is “virtually nonstop.” The president’s comment suggests that high‑level coordination on military, economic and humanitarian assistance persists.
The president also noted that the ongoing “spat with Trump” has not disrupted this steady flow of communication, indicating that policy ties between Kyiv and the current U.S. administration remain intact.
The United States has been a principal source of military aid, financial support and diplomatic backing for Ukraine since the war began, a relationship that Zelensky says continues unabated.
Zelensky’s statements come as Kyiv seeks to sustain international pressure on Moscow while pursuing avenues for a negotiated settlement that would end the hostilities.
