A Russian extremist group has denied that it sent a series of hoax bomb threats to flights across Europe this week.
According to reports, scores of flights operating over the continent received bomb warnings, but no explosives were found during security checks.
The group’s spokesperson stated that it had not been involved in the threats, calling them a “false alarm” and asserting that the incidents were not linked to any extremist activity.
European aviation authorities have continued to investigate the origins of the warnings, while maintaining that all flights remain safe and that no threats have been substantiated.
So far, the investigations have not uncovered any evidence of actual explosives, and the threats have been classified as hoaxes.
