Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has extended congratulations to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on marking a 25‑year milestone in government, describing the occasion as “a rare democratic achievement.”
In a statement released on Monday, Tinubu praised Modi’s longevity, noting that sustaining such a tenure within a democratic framework is uncommon and reflects both political stability and public support.
Modi’s quarter‑century in Indian government underscores his enduring role in the country’s political landscape, a period that the Nigerian president highlighted as noteworthy for any democratic nation.
India, the world’s largest democracy, has seen few leaders maintain continuous executive influence for a comparable span, a fact Tinubu said underscores the significance of Modi’s achievement.
The congratulatory message also reaffirmed the friendly ties between Nigeria and India, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation across trade, investment and cultural exchange.
