Brazilian forward Raphinha has signed a new contract with La Liga champions Barcelona that will keep him at the club until 2030, the club announced on Thursday.
The 29‑year‑old, who arrived in Barcelona in 2022, was originally contracted through 2028. The extension adds two further years to his deal, securing the captain’s services for the next six seasons.
A declaration of intent. Our dear captain will continue to lead our project until 2030,
Raphinha, who expressed a desire to extend his stay in September and hinted at finishing his career at the Camp Nou, has been in prolific form this campaign. He has scored 19 goals and provided three assists in 13 matches across all competitions, after moving from his traditional wing position to a more central role following the departures of strikers Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres.
He assumed the Barcelona captaincy at the start of the season after the exits of Ronald Araujo and Marc‑Andre ter Stegen. Since German coach Hansi Flick took charge in 2024, Raphinha has become the club’s most potent forward, helping Barcelona secure back‑to‑back La Liga titles.
