Portugal, the reigning UEFA Nations League champions, will host Norway in a group‑stage encounter, a match that comes just days after veteran forward Cristiano Ronaldo left the Portuguese training camp.
The fixture pits the title‑holding side against a Norway team led by prolific striker Erling Haaland, whose presence has drawn considerable attention ahead of the game.
Ronaldo’s departure from the squad was confirmed earlier this week, with the Portuguese Football Federation confirming that the five‑time Ballon d’Or winner is no longer part of the camp. No further details on the reasons for his exit were provided.
Both nations will be looking to secure points in the Nations League, a competition that offers European teams a chance to compete beyond the traditional qualifying formats for major tournaments.
The match will be played on Portuguese soil, providing the hosts an opportunity to defend their title in front of their home supporters while Norway seeks to test its attacking options against the defending champions.
