Police and the Department of State Services (DSS) said they had neutralised a suspected kidnapper in Ogun State, arrested an 18‑year‑old suspect and seized two AK‑47 rifles during a joint operation.
The operation was carried out by the Ogun State Police Command in cooperation with DSS agents, who said the suspect had been linked to a series of kidnapping incidents in the region.
According to the police statement, the 18‑year‑old was taken into custody at the scene and will be processed under the state’s criminal justice system.
In addition to the arrest, officers recovered two fully‑fitted AK‑47 rifles, which were seized as part of the operation’s evidence collection.
The move is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to curb kidnapping and armed robbery in Ogun State and across Nigeria.
