President Bola Tinubu’s chief of staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, announced that he has been cleared of any wrongdoing after investigations by Nigeria’s Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC). The statement, released to the media, said the three agencies found no evidence to support the allegations that had been levelled against him.
Gbajabiamila, who serves as the senior aide coordinating the president’s agenda, had been the subject of unspecified accusations that prompted the three security and anti‑corruption bodies to open inquiries. The investigations were reportedly concluded without any charges being filed.
“Police, DSS, ICPC cleared me of allegations,” Gbajabiamila said.
The Nigerian Police Force is responsible for maintaining law and order, the DSS handles internal security and intelligence, while the ICPC is the country’s principal anti‑corruption agency. All three institutions are mandated to investigate alleged misconduct by public officials.
With the agencies’ findings made public, Gbajabiamila reiterated his commitment to supporting President Tinubu’s administration. Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation, continues to grapple with calls for transparency and accountability among its political leaders.
