The police clarified that the doctor was not kidnapped, but rather apprehended by the operatives of the Special Tactical Squad (STS) attached to the Force Intelligence Department (FID), Abuja.

Dr. Ogbaji's family had called for his safe return after alleging that he was kidnapped during his hospital visit.
