Police in Nigeria's Jigawa State have arrested three suspects and seized a locally made pistol and ammunition during a recent operation on Nguru‑Birniwa Road.
The Jigawa State Police Command carried out the operation, which resulted in the apprehension of the three individuals and the recovery of the weapon and its ammunition.
Nguru‑Birniwa Road, a key route in the state, was the site of the police action, part of a broader effort to curb illegal firearms in the region.
Details of the suspects' identities and the circumstances leading to the arrest have not yet been released by the police.
Authorities have said the recovered pistol and ammunition will be seized and added to the evidence in any forthcoming legal proceedings.
