The Bauchi State Police Command has detained a 26‑year‑old man after he was accused of posing as a soldier and stealing a vehicle from a factory owner in the state.
According to police officials, the suspect had been seen wearing a military uniform and was believed to have used it to gain access to the factory premises. Once inside, he allegedly commandeered the owner’s vehicle and fled the scene.
Investigators recovered the stolen vehicle later in the day, and the suspect was taken into custody at a police station in Bauchi. He faces charges of impersonation and vehicle theft.
Police said the arrest was part of a broader effort to curb impersonation of security personnel and protect local businesses from criminal activity.
Details of the case, including the identity of the factory owner and the specific model of the vehicle, have not yet been released by authorities.
