The Ebonyi State Police Command has detained Ugwumba Enyinnaya, who is accused of impersonating a lawyer and operating in that capacity for more than eleven years.
Enyinnaya was arrested by police officials in Ebonyi State after authorities uncovered evidence that he had been presenting himself as a qualified legal practitioner without holding the necessary credentials.
According to the police, the man had been practising under the guise of a lawyer for over a decade, providing legal advice and services to the public while lacking any formal admission to the bar.
The arrest was reported by the Nigerian daily Punch, which highlighted the length of the alleged fraud and the potential impact on clients who may have relied on Enyinnaya’s unqualified representation.
Details of the charges and any subsequent legal proceedings have not yet been released by the Ebonyi State Police Command.
