Abia State Governor Alex Otti on Sunday urged investors who had moved out of the state, as well as prospective investors, to return and tap into what he described as a “business‑friendly environment” fostered by his administration.
Speaking at the commissioning of a new hospitality facility in Aba, the governor highlighted the state’s renewed focus on creating conditions that encourage private sector growth and job creation.
The ceremony marked the inauguration of a hotel built by a private investor, underscoring Otti’s call for displaced business owners to consider re‑establishing operations in Abia.
Otti said his government has already taken steps to improve the investment climate, noting that recent policies and projects are designed to make the state more attractive to both local and foreign capital.
Abia State, located in Nigeria’s southeast region, has traditionally been a hub for manufacturing and trade. The governor’s appeal comes as the state seeks to revive its economy by drawing back capital that left during periods of uncertainty.
