A faction of the Inter‑Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Osun State has publicly disowned the individuals who were listed as its representatives on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s campaign council.
IPAC is a coalition of political parties that coordinates joint activities and policy positions across Nigeria. The Osun State chapter, however, says the names placed on the campaign council do not reflect its authorized members.
The campaign council is intended to organise support for President Tinubu’s political agenda, including his re‑election bid, by drawing on representatives from various parties and regions.
The disowning statement was issued after the campaign council list was released, with the Osun faction asserting that the individuals named were not selected by its leadership.
Osun State, a southwestern state with a history of closely contested elections, is considered a strategic area for any national campaign. Disagreements within IPAC’s state structures could influence the level of coordination and support that President Tinubu receives in the region.
