Deontay Wilder is being discussed as a possible opponent for Australian cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia on the undercard of the Tyson Fury versus Anthony Joshua heavyweight showdown slated for 11 December.
The main event, billed as a blockbuster clash between two of boxing’s biggest names, will see Fury and Joshua face off in a highly anticipated title bout later in the month.
Wilder, a former world heavyweight champion, has been exploring options to return to the ring after his last fight, and a matchup with Opetaia has emerged as a potential undercard attraction.
Opetaia, who holds the WBA (Regular) cruiserweight title, has expressed readiness to compete, positioning the bout as a high‑profile opportunity on a major fight night.
While the pairing has generated interest, both fighters’ camps have yet to confirm the fight, and final arrangements remain subject to negotiation and official sanctioning.
Undercard fights such as this often serve to showcase rising talent and add depth to marquee events, offering fans additional marquee match‑ups alongside the headline bout.
