Police in Bauchi State announced the arrest of four suspects following a violent clash between farmers and herders in Ningi Local Government Area that left one person dead and resulted in several houses being set ablaze.
The confrontation, which took place in the Ningi district, caused the death of a single individual and the destruction of multiple residential structures, according to local law‑enforcement officials.
State police said the four individuals were taken into custody shortly after the incident and are being investigated for their involvement in the violence.
Clashes between farming communities and nomadic herders have been a recurring source of insecurity in northern Nigeria, where competition over land and water resources often escalates into armed confrontations.
Authorities have urged residents to remain calm while investigations continue, and have called for dialogue to prevent further outbreaks of violence in the region.
