Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has inaugurated a 62-bed ultramodern medical centre in Ewatto, located in the Esan South-East Local Government Area of the state. The facility was donated by billionaire businessman and philanthropist Dr Leemon Ikpea to his community, marking a significant addition to the region's healthcare infrastructure.

The new medical centre is specifically designed to improve access to healthcare services for residents of Ewatto and neighbouring communities. By establishing this facility, the initiative aims to address local health needs and provide residents with a modernized platform for medical care.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Governor Okpebholo commended Dr Ikpea for his contribution to the community. The Governor highlighted the importance of such philanthropic efforts in enhancing the quality of life for citizens in Edo State.

Dr Ikpea, recognized as a prominent figure in both business and philanthropy, provided the funding for the construction of the hospital. The 62-bed capacity of the centre indicates a substantial resource allocation intended to serve a wide demographic within the Esan South-East region.

The unveiling of the hospital underscores a collaborative approach between state leadership and private sector philanthropy to bolster public health facilities in Nigeria’s Edo State.
