Kwara United’s chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, has reaffirmed the club’s commitment to transparency and open‑door management after questions arose about the whereabouts of loan‑signed forward Akanni Akeem.
Speaking to the club’s media team, Titiloye said the club remains accessible to supporters and stakeholders, and is ready to clarify any issues concerning its operations.
He explained that Akeem joined Kwara United on a loan deal that includes a clause allowing the player to move abroad if a suitable opportunity presents itself. “Akanni Akeem was loaned to Kwara United, and his agents specifically noted that if an opportunity arises for him to move abroad, Kwara United must release him,” Titiloye said.
In the same interview, the chairman highlighted the contractual safeguards that govern player movements in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL). “All contracts of players always have four copies – NPFL, the club, the player and the NFF,” he explained. “No club can play in the league without these documents, amongst other documents.”
By underscoring these procedures, Titiloye aims to reassure fans that Kwara United operates within the league’s regulatory framework and maintains a transparent relationship with its players and partners.
